Medicine (6- year MD Programe)
Our Medical Program in English is based on the plan of study for Polish students and all subjects are taught in English. The solid theoretical and practical background as well as academic knowledge gained during lectures and clinical classes allow our students to choose their future specialization according to their skills and abilities.
Clinical base: Dr Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No.1 in Bydgoszcz and Dr Jan Biziel University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz function at Collegium Medicum as the base for educating, carrying out scientific research and providing highly specialized diagnostic, medical and rehabilitation services. According to the International Nurses Association and International Council of Nurses Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. Studying Nursing at Collegium Medicum gives a solid theoretical and practical background in medical sciences.
Dr Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz and Dr Jan Biziel University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz function as a main clinical base also for Nursing students. Studying Nursing at Collegium Medicum provides a comprehensive program of study involving a diverse range of simulated practice and fieldwork, professional learning, advanced clinical skill development and the opportunity for an international study experience.
The English Studies programme is addressed to both Polish and non-Polish undergraduate students. It offers a combination of practical English courses and language studies field-specific seminars and lectures (British and American literature and culture, language acquisition, linguistics, contrastive and descriptive grammar). All subjects are taught in English (these also include Latin and foreign language courses read in English). The study programme comprises courses which should facilitate the undergraduates’ entry into the job market: English for specific purposes – translation laboratory, and business English.
On completion of the three-year-long study programme, the student will obtain a BA diploma and will have gained knowledge of Anglophone literature, culture, and linguistics. The undergraduate will have productive skills at B2+ level in compliance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Skills, knowledge and social competence acquired will be an asset in such job sectors as translation and interpreting, tourism, corporate services, public relations, marketing, advertising, and copy-writing. The student will be able to continue English studies in the MA programme.
Tourism and Recreation offers knowledge of environmental, economic, cultural and psycho-social factors affecting tourism, sport and leisure. Upon the completion of the studies, students will have access to a wide selection of career prospects with employers operating in tourism industry, such as travel agencies, hotels, holiday centres, sports clubs and gyms, biological renewal and wellness centres, agritourism farms, national and local government administration agencies, social organizations, foundations, associations and other institutions. Students will be competent to set up their own business.as well as for taking up own business. Graduates will be prepared to enroll for second-cycle programmes.
