Krakow Teknik Üniversitesi


Krakov Teknik ya da Krakov Teknoloji Üniversitesi olarak bilinen Üniversitenin tarihçesi 16. yüzyıla dayanmaktadır. Ancak Teknoloji enstitüsünün 1834 yılında kurulduğunu görüyoruz. Polonya'nın tarihi ve Politik süreci boyunca Mühendislik, Sanat ve Poligrafi alanında eğitimler sunmuştur. Özgürlük yolundaki admlarla beraber 1918 de ciddi anlamda restorasyona giden üniversite, İnşaat mühendisliği alanında ön plana çıkmıştır.

İkinci dünya savaşı boyunca Nazi'ler tarafından işgal edilen bölge de akademisyenleri ve akademiyi yok ettiğini görüyoruz. Modern Krakov Teknoloji Ünversitesi'nin 1945 de başlatılan çalışmalar ve 1947 de faliyete sunulan programlar ile eğitim sürecine girdiğini söyleyebiliriz. 70 yıllık modern tarihinden bu yana Krakov Teknoloji Üniversitesi hep güncel akademik ihtiyaçları dikkate alarak,piyasanın ihtiyaçlarına uygun programlar sunduğunu gözlemiyoruz. 7 tane Ana kampüsten oluşan üniversitenin çok ciddi anlamda equipman  ve altyapısı olduğunu biliyoruz. 

Ayrıca Radyo istasyonları, öğrenci klüpleri,birleşik araştırma merkezleri ve sahip olduğu korosu öğrencilerine sunduğu sosyal ve akadamik organizayonlarından sadece bir kaçını oluşturmaktadır. Üniversite tam bir sosyal akademi havasındadır.

Program description:

Advanced Computational Mechanics (ACM) is addressed for students who want to study contemporary problems in theoretical and applied mechanics with computer support. The program contains of the following general topics: basis in mathematics and physics, theoretical mechanics and strength of materials, material science and machining of structures, informatics and numerical methods, mechanics of solids, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, theory of vibration and acoustics, automatic control and mechatronics, intelligent materials. Selected subject can be studied by Erasmus program students.

The programme is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Apart from an online application the following documents need to be sent to [email protected] (scans or photographs of the works) in the *.pdf or *.jpg format:

  1. Cover letter (written in English, addressed to Dean of the Faculty of Architecture)
  2. Candidate’s statement confirming that all works comprising the portfolio have been prepared by the candidate in person.
  3. Portfolio consisting of the following elements:
  • 2 freehand drawings of nature in any technique, presenting a composition consisting of elementary solids (such as cube, cylinder, pyramid, cone, prism, cuboid, etc.) or derivatives of such solids
  • 1 freehand drawing or painting of nature in any technique, presenting any still life
  • 2 freehand drawings of nature, presenting any existing buildings or architectural structures
  • 1 freehand drawing of nature in any technique presenting a part of a city (e.g. avenue, street, square, passage, piazza)
  • 3 photographs devoted to architecture
  • 3 works in any technique (including computer techniques, multimedia techniques, etc.) on any topic.

The candidates wishing to study in English will register at the same time as the candidates for the studies in Polish, and they will be subject to the same qualification procedure. The recruitment criteria for Civil Engineering Studies are the same regardless of the language used to teach during the courses. However, the candidates for the studies in English will be required to prove an excellent command of English by submitting an appropriate language certificate. Exams like CAE, CPE; an A-grade or B-grade FCE, TOEFL, the International Secondary School certificate or graduating from the secondary school where subjects are taught in English, are adequate to meet our requirements. The candidates accepted to study at our University, but unable to meet the criteria mentioned above, will write a language competence test, which will check their knowledge of English and prove their eligibility for the CUT studies in English.
It is worth mentioning, that graduating from the CUT (studies in English) will provide an opportunity for the building license application, after certain legal requirements are fulfilled. After a two-year practical training period, the graduates will also have a chance to apply for the European Union engineer degree, which is honored in all European Union countries.

Nowadays the Computer Science is present everywhere in a human life. Computers are commonly used for working, getting and broadcasting of information, data processing, production management, air- sea- and land traffic control, communication, multimedia and etc. People, who are familiar with modern information techniques, who are able to force computers for use all their possibilities, who know how to exploit capabilities of complex computer networks and who are willing to write programs for a new sophisticated applications are wanted for almost all branches of human activity. Our graduates may obtain a professional knowledge in these and many other problems connected with the use of computers. They will be able to work with project management, software engineering, implementation and management of modern informatics’ systems. They will be also able to manage of data bases, internet services, computer systems and networks. They will know how to solve problems in these fields, starting from their analysis, building UML models, creation of algorithms and writing suitable software. Our graduates can get a job in big or small business, industry, telecommunication, administration, services, education, multimedia and many other places.

The course consists of three semesters. At the first semester the basic subjects are included (e.g. Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Power Plant Technology and Numerical Methods among others). The second semester is dedicated to the Directional Subjects (e.g. Computational Structural Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics) and specialization subjects depending on the selected module. The classes are conducted by researchers from Poland and world recognized foreign lecturers. The study program is tailored to the market needs and taking into account modern scientific trends including: design of energy systems, experimental investigation of energy systems, mathematical modeling of energy systems, and the application of modern computer techniques (e.g. Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Element Method) for energy systems analysis and design.

The course consists of two modules:

  • Energy Systems, which is dedicated to conventional power plants and systems
  • Renewable Energy which is dedicated to heating systems and renewable energy technologies

The best students have the opportunity to perform master's thesis in collaboration with leading foreign universities and to start the PhD study in Power Engineering.

Enviromental and Land Engineering

Programme "Environmental and land engineering" educates future engineers and develops their interdisciplinary professional competences in the following areas:

  • the methods for assessment and protection of the aquatic environment, remediation of soil and protection of the atmosphere;
  • the use of a variety of engineering tools for data analysis, process and system modeling, and geographic information systems;
  • design and operation of building installations and water supply and sewage networks;
  • technology and construction of devices for water and wastewater treatment;
  • waste management and energy recovery from waste and renewable energy systems;
  • designing, construction and operation of heating, cooling, air conditioning and ventilation installations and devices;
  • assessment of geotechnical conditions and phenomena occurring between the building and the ground.

The best students, after fulfilling certain conditions, have the opportunity to complete the second and third semesters of studies at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy) and obtain two diplomas of graduation: from Cracow University of Technology (Master of Environmental Engineering) and from Università degli Studi di Cagliari (Master in Environmental and Land Engineering).

Starting from Spring Semester, the Faculty of Architecture Cracow University of Technology offers three-semester (1.5-year) Master’s Degree Studies in English (M.Arch.).

The offer of these studies is meant for students with Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and prepares them for professional practice as architects. The programme of studies is exactly the same as the curriculum in Polish which is a professional degree programme accredited by The Polish Accreditation Committee, The Accreditation Commission for Polish Universities of Technology, the EU evaluation as well as The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) evaluation. The programme of studies lasts for three semesters. The total number of ECTS credits is 90 (30 per semester). The total number of hours is 900 plus 150 for Internships after the 1st semester (1st semester: 405h +150h; 2nd semester: 390h, 3rd semester: 75h).

The Master of Architecture programme of studies focuses on a wide range of issues directly affecting contemporary architecture and urban design:

• Architectural and urban design in the fields of multifamily housing and public use buildings, • Spatial and regional planning,

• Preservation of monuments and revalorization of urban complexes with design for conservation,

• Landscape architecture, architecture and planning in the countryside,

• Building construction systems and building structures,

• Theory of architecture and urban design as well as spatial and regional planning,

• History of art, culture and contemporary urban design,

• Ecology and environmental protection. Design, history, theory and building structure    technology are taught to prepare students for professional registration as architects in the  European Union.
